24LC64-I/SN - Microchip Function Overview

The 24LC64-I/SN is a 64Kbit serial I2C EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Memory) in 8 pin SOIC package. The device is organized as a single block of 8K x 8bit memory with a two wire serial interface. Low voltage design permits operation down to 1.7V with standby and active currents of only 1µA and 3mA respectively. It has been developed for advanced low power applications such as personal communications or data acquisition. The 24LC64 has a page write capability for up to 32Bytes of data. Functional address lines allow up to eight devices on the same bus for up to 512Kbits address space. It features more than 1 million erase/write cycles and data retention is greater than 200 years.
Maximum clock frequency is 400KHz
Supply voltage range from 2.5V to 5.5V
Low power CMOS technology
Packages with 3 address pins are cascaded to 8 devices
Schmitt trigger inputs for noise suppression
Output slope control to eliminate ground bounce
Page write time is 5ms maximum
Self timed erase/write cycle
Hardware write protect
Operating temperature range -40°C to 85°C
