DS1809-010+ - Maxim Integrated Function Overview

The DS1809-010+ is a Dallastat non-volatile digitally controlled potentiometer in 8 pin DIP package. This device provides simple contact closure controlled interface and microprocessor controlled interface. Wiper position is maintained in the absence of power in EEPROM. The device provides two methods of non-volatile wiper storage using internal EEPROM memory cells. These two methods include an auto store configuration and a command initiated storage operation which is processed utilizing the STR input pin. The EEPROM cell array of the DS1809 is designed to accept greater than 50k writes. It handles both mechanical pushbutton and digital inputs, hence DS1809 can adapt to applications with either or both mechanical and processor controlled interfaces.
Supply voltage range from 4.5V to 5.5V
Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
Single 64 position linear potentiometer
Electronic interface provides either digital or pushbutton control
Two non-volatile wiper storage options
Low cost alternative to mechanical solutions
End to end resistance is 10Kohm at ±20% tolerance and temperature coefficient is 750ppm/°C
Wiper resistance is 400 ohm
Uniform wiper position over entire resistance range
