●The LT1083CP#PBF is an adjustable output, three terminal low dropout (LDO) positive regulator in TO-3P package. The internal circuitry is designed to operate down to 1V input to output differential and dropout voltage at fully specified load current. on-chip trimming adjusts reference voltage to 1%. Current limit is also trimmed minimizing stress on both regulator and power source circuitry under overload conditions. The LT1083 device is pin compatible with older three terminal regulators and it requires 10µF output capacitor. Up to 10% of output current is wasted as quiescent current in PNP regulators where as in LT1083 quiescent current flows into load which inturn increases efficiency.
