DS1833-10+ - Maxim Integrated Function Overview

The DS1833-10+ is a 5V EconoReset monitor in 3 pin TO-92 package. A precision temperature compensated reference and comparator circuit is used to monitor the status of the power supply (VCC). It provides a function of detecting out of tolerance power supply conditions and warning a processor based system of impending power failure. When VCC is detected in out of tolerance condition, an internal power fail signal is generated which forces reset to the active (high) state. When VCC returns to an in-tolerance condition, the reset signal is kept in the active state for approximately 350ms to allow the power supply and processor to stabilize.
Supply voltage range is 1.2V to 5.5V
Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
Vcc trip point is 4.375V
Automatically restarts microprocessor after power failure
Reduces need for discrete components
Accurate 10% microprocessor 5V power supply monitoring
Output capacitance is 10pF
Internal 5Kohm pull-up resistor
